Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – First Zimbabwe female artist , Patricia Mukusha stage name tete Pipilo has challenged Zimbabweans to take seriously female songbirds who are into Sungura music and recognise them for their work not only considering male Sungura artists as better off.
Patricia Mukusha ,also known as tete Pipilo is the founder and leader of Manjenjenje Smart Family which was formed in April 2013 in the city of Chitungwiza which is forty kilometres away from the capital city of Zimbabwe. In 2016 the group released the hottest album called Hambarume which took her fans crazy the whole part of 2017 and is still widely played across all radio stations to the present.
Considering the competition in the Sungura ,where there are gurus like Alick Macheso ,Tongai Tarubona of the Black Identity Band to name a few ,tete Pipilo decided to race with these gurus irregardless of being a female artist so that she can show the world that being a woman does not mean she can not do what men can do.Manjenjenje Smart Family comprises of nine members and is still growing up , it has a care taker manager known as Nitio Mutamba who is a lead guitarist.
‘We are still growing up, we are still having some challenges , we are appealling for well wishers for donations so that we can be assisted in travelling , buying instruments and other logistics which needs financial stability’ said tete Pipilo .’Voice does not age , look at the musical legends like Mirriam Makheba , Dolly Parton , Yvonne Chakachaka to name a few , if you listen to their voices beside their ages you can not say they are old as they are that is how l am ‘ added tete Pipilo.
The Manjenjenje Smart Family are promising their fans another hit album this year and right now they are working on a video for Hambarume album. They are also appreciating the support they are given by their fans.
