Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Norton-based prophet Brighton Chikomo has sent tongues wagging after he called congregants to eat a poisonous flower last Sunday.
Speaking to News of The South, a congregant with Bright Light Prophetic ministry John Gwara said what he saw is in inexplicable.
“I was one of the people who ate the poisonous flower after the man of God first ate the flower and advised us to also do the same if we were suffering from afflictions.
“The poisonous flower tasted like spinach,” narrated John Gwara.
Another member of the ministry who preferred anonymity said the way the prophet did it showed that it was not a gimmick as the flower is known to be very poisonous but no one was affected by it.
“The man is a true Man of God because how can one survive after eating a poisonous flower like that one but we are all live and kicking celebrating the grace of the Almighty,” she said.
Contacted for comment, Prophet Brighton Chikomo confessed that indeed he ordered the congregants to eat the poisonous flower to demonstrate the power of Almighty.
“Indeed it happened in Norton and many thought I was joking but I had to first show them by eating it myself and what followed was a stampede as people devoured the flower like vegetables, ”said Chikomo.
The Bright Light Prophetic ministry leader said the new dispensation has also brought a relief to the religious sector as people are now freely enjoying their freedom of worship.
“People were no longer coming to church in the old dispensation because of the fear of ‘spooks ‘ but now we have seen numbers coming to seek God,” claimed Chikomo.
Chikomo is not new to controversial antics and many have dismissed him as an attention-seeker.
Can African underdevelopment be a blessing in disguise? Can we take advantage of being so far behind from first world countries?
