Cameroon have made the use of air strikes to fight the Boko Haram militants on cross border raids.
According to the Cameroon government officials 41 militants were killed in the first raid.
Cameroonian authorities claimed the air strikes for Boko Haram to relinquish control of the base and flee the area that includes the village of Amchide.
According to Lieutenant colonel Didier Badjeck close to 1,000 fighters attacked the villages and Achigachia military base.
He said: “After that, the head of state ordered the air force to carry out strikes. With the bombardment, the fighters were forced to decamp from Achigachia.
According to Cameroon’s government, Boko Haram are trying out a new srategy of “distracting” soldiers “on different fronts, making them more vulnerable in the face of the mobility and unpredictability of their attacks”.
In Nigeria well over 2000 civilians have been killed by Boko Haram and the 250 Chibok irls kidnapped early this year are still missing.
