The Gunners returned to the summit of the Barclays Premier Soccer League table courtesy of a brace from Theo Walcott and a strike from the returning Lukas Podolski in a 3-1 win over West Ham in a boxing day fixture played at Upton Park.
Walcott struck twice in three second-half minutes as Arsenal came from a goal down to defeat the relegation threatened West Ham.
The win brought Arsenal on track for the title race after three league games without a win and at the same time sink their London rivals deep intothe relegation gorge.
On the 46th minute Arsenal fall behind following a Calton Cole’s goal after Wojciech Szczesny made a deadly blander to put West Ham 1 nil up.
However, the England international Walcott levelled matters in the 68th minute with a strike that the goal minder had a touch on it, before heading home after utilising a cross from the fired up Podolski who came in as a substitute for Aaron Ramsey.
