Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-Norton Parliamentarian and former ZANU PF member Themba Mliswa has outlandishly accused the Zezuru tribe from which President Mugabe hails of monopolizing power in the 36 years that he has been in power.

Mliswa has vowed never to vote for a Zezuru President and called on the rest of the country to join in what he calls a tribal battle in which Zezurus have been trying to kill the other tribes.

In a statement he released the vocal independent candidate winner in the Norton by-election said the main problems bedeviling the country had a tribal background.

“We the Karangas are not fools and we are watching. I have always told Mnangagwa that you are hated because you are Karanga. Mugabe hates you”.

The war has turned tribal now. We shall go back to the Karangas and tell them not to vote for any Zezuru”.

I will never vote for a Zezuru President. Karanga-yes! Samanyika-yes and Ndebele-yes”, he said.

Mliswa continued that there is need to redress the balance of power in the country in sentiments that are set to draw the ire of people across the political divide.

“The balance of power cannot be one sided. You will see that people have been awakened”.

“For 36 years, we cannot say we are stupid, we are just respectful, peaceful. But in 2018, we will speak. We started it just now, it’s a tribal issue”.

“They came to kill us. We can also play the game, who cannot play the same game?’

The former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman who was chucked out of the party said that what he was doing was just throwing a matchstick to start what will soon blow up into a full-fledged fire.

“Somebody has to just start the fire by throwing a match stick into the bush. That is what I have done today. The grass is ready to burn. Let us see how far the fire will go”.

“We cannot have a situation where we are monopolized by one tribe, they are not superior and not even educated as the Karangas”, he said.

Mliswa’s statements which are obviously aimed President Mugabe are the latest signal of his alleged pain at being removed from ZANU PF and the ambition he harbours to one day return to the currently factionally ridden party.

The MDC-T has since started distancing itself from fully supporting independent candidates after the example of Mliswa in Norton.

Mliswa has been accused of having become an expatriate ZANU member after winning the Norton by-election utilizing MDC-T support.
